Tray Mountain

Rained all day today. Everything is wet. I never imagined this amount of rain — buckets being dumped from the sky.

I stopped 1.2 miles from my goal, Tray Mountain Shelter. I checked my phone, found it soaked inside the Ziploc bag, and panicked. I had a flashback to the Colorado Trail, when I dropped my phone in a waterfall and the SIM card broke.

I set up my tent in the rain — cursing and praying. Then I tried to eat, forcing down dry ramen while sitting in the puddles inside my tent. I wondered if leaving my phone in a bag of dry ramen would work as well as uncooked rice.
