Bromley Mountain
I took a blue blaze around Stratton Mountain today. I wasn't feeling up to it, and I remember from last year feeling curious about some of the blue blaze trails. I was looking forward to reaching Bromley Mountain. Last year, Mimic recommended carrying up water and sleeping at the top. The trail reconnects at Stratton Pond.
A few miles later, I reached Spruce Peak shelter. I took the side trail down and took a break at the shelter, reading old entries and looking for mine from last year when I took a zero there.
I felt better in the afternoon, meeting another hiker on the trail. I stopped a few times to take photos of trees, flowers, and mushrooms. Carrying water up to the top of Bromley Mountain slowed me down, but the views from the top of Bromley at sunset were incredible and worth it.
There's a hut near the ski lift with electricity, heat, and Wi-Fi open to thru-hikers during the summer season. Tonight there were three other thru-hikers staying at the hut and more than enough space. A mother and son named Slow-Mo and Boots, and Photos, the hiker I met earlier today.
